Suzuki Method by Dr. Shinichi Suzuki: beginners through early intermediate levels use the Suzuki Method books as the core repertoire. Suzuki volumes focuses on Baroque, Classical, Romantic and folk melodies to teach basic string principles and music-making.
Solos for Young Cellists by Carey Cheney: supplementary repertoire books including Romantic, Modern and Alternate Styles.
I Can Read Music by Joanne Martin: 2-volume series to help the student learn how to read music, or specifically bass clef and where the notes lie on the instrument.
Position Pieces for Cello by Rick Mooney: Assigned with Suzuki Volume 2 to learn how to shift and explore the cello fingerboard geography beyond 1st position. Covers half through fourth position.

* Advanced Repertoire
Standard cello repertoire by master composers are taught at the intermediate and advanced level. Music is either downloaded for free at IMSP.org or purchased from various music publishers & distributors. Music assigned at this point is catered to the individual.
